You can see the Pacific Ocean for 90% of the half marathon course!  The half marathon course combines spectacular oceanfront views, charming seaside communities, and the metropolitan feel at the start and finish.

The highest elevation on the course is 45 feet. Starting on Shoreline Drive, the course passes the new Pike at Shoreline Village, crosses the Queensway Bridge and runs to the bow of the Queen Mary, circles back around the Aquarium of the Pacific, the Lighthouse at Rainbow Harbor, then back by Shoreline Village before heading down the beautiful beach path.

You’ll close out your race running above the ocean along the bluff before closing out downhill into a cheering final straight of fans.

There are multiple parking areas in Downtown Long Beach within walking distance of the start and finish lines of the Long Beach Marathon. Review the Parking page of our website for updated information.

Please find the approximate aid station locations below:

Miles 2, 4.5, 6, 8, 10, 12

Water is provided at all aid stations along the course. Nuun (Lemon Lime Endurance) will be provided at the following aid stations: 6, 8, 10, and 12

Chargel instant energy will be provided at the aid station at Mile 10 along the course.

Gear Check will be available for all half marathon participants.  Gear check will be located in Marina Green.  When in the start chute, the gear check area is to the the left.  The gear check tent will stay in the same location throughout the duration of the race

Clear, plastic bags, will be available at the Race Expo for use at the Gear Check tent.  All items must be placed in this clear bag.  Please attach the gear check tag on your bib to your clear plastic bag using the provided cable ties.

Gear Check will open to drop off bags at 5:30am at Marina Green and must be picked up no later than 1:30pm.  Please do not check valuables.  Gear is checked at your own risk.  The race is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged bags.

The half marathon has a course time limit of 6 hours.  Due to the nature of our event permit, if a participant falls behind the established pace time, they may be asked to join the sweep vehicle to be moved ahead on course.

The top 3 male and female finishers in the half marathon will receive prize money:

1st place – $1000 & $500 prize package from 2XU
2nd place – $500 & $400 prize package from 2XU
3rd place – $250 & $300 prize package from 2XU

The top 3 male and female finishers in each age group in the half marathon will receive an award.  Please see the age groups below:
Under 15, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+

Awards must be picked up on-site from the Age Group Awards table in Marina Green.  Awards will not be mailed post-race.

All participants in the half marathon must be 13 years of age on race day to participate.  No exceptions.

Parking

ICONIC & AMAZING SPECTATORS

Running past the iconic Queen Mary is awesome as well as running past all the amazing spectators! Not the mention the perfect weather we had! I highly recommend running this race!
