L.A.’S GOURMET FOOD TRUCKS SERVING UP HEALTHY FOOD AT LONG BEACH INTERNATIONAL CITY BANK MARATHON & HALF MARATHON
LONG BEACH – The highly recognized – and sought-after – gourmet food trucks that are so popular among L.A.’s lunchtime crowd are coming to Long Beach. They will be set up for 26th annual Long Beach International City Long Beach Bank Marathon & Half Marathon.
On Sunday, Oct. 17, after running in the Marathon, the Half-Marathon or taking part in the 26.2-mile bike race, participants will have their choice of four food trucks serving high-quality, healthy food at the finish line. That’s just what marathoners want, too – there’s no cheeseburgers and fries for this group.
The gourmet food trucks are:
SEABIRDS TRUCK. Orange County’s original veggie truck serves a variety of local organic vegetarian food. While its menu constantly changes, its menu features tacos, burritos, a nut and seed patty burger and a grilled portabella mushroom.
BAJA FRESH TRUCK. Baja Fresh(r) Mexican Grill features all-fresh, traditional fire-grilled Mexican favorites. It doesn’t serve processed and pre-heated food or lots of fillers instead of flavors.
LOUKS TO GO. This truck features Greek-American food. Many ingredients, including the feta cheese, honey, olive oil, spices, and kalamata olives, are imported directly from Greece.
CALBI. Serving Mexican food, its tacos consist of marinated and seasoned Korean Beef short rib, Korean-style chicken, Korean Spicy pork or grilled shrimp topped with a fresh vegetable garnish and finished with a special house sauce. The burritos have fillings of beef, chicken, pork, tofu or shrimp, added with a fresh scrambled egg, vegetable mix, a pinch of sesame seeds, finely shredded cheese and house sauce. The quesadilla choices are Kim Chee. beef, chicken, pork and cheese, each served with a house dipping sauce on the side.
